Iran-India to cooperate on ‘Hello Mumbai’ series

Iranian director Qorban Mohammadpour is to make ‘Hello Mumbai’ series for home entertainment market.

Iranian director Qorban Mohammadpour has planned to make ‘Hello Mumbai’ series, in cooperation with Indian cinema, for home entertainment market.

The director said he is working on the screenplay and the series will be the first of its kind to be available on both Iranian and Indian platforms.

He also noted that the production team is ready to receive the production permit from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

The director has negotiated with several Iranian and Indian actors, and will begin shooting as soon as they receive the production permit.

Mohammadpour added he is planning to begin the project after the New Year holidays in Iran.

“Javad Noruzbeigi is the producer of the series, which is quite a different project in comparison to the film ‘Hello Mumbai’,” he added.

To be produced in 20 episodes, seven episodes of the series will be filmed in Mumbai and the rest in Tehran.

‘Hello Mumbai’ narrates a love story. Ali is an Iranian student studying medicine in India.

He and Karishma, his Indian classmate, fall in love at university, but their love story is very difficult and complicated.

The movie cast list of the movie includes Mohammad-Reza Golzar, Dia Mirza, Gulshan Grover, Dalip Tahil, Iranian singer Benyamin Bahadori, as well as some other Iranian and Indian actors.
